The Science department organized an educational excursion to the Tropical Forest Research Institute (TFRI) on the occasion of Bamboo Day. The visit provided students with a unique opportunity to explore the world of forestry and bamboo.
Highlights of the Visit
- Museum Visit
Students observed a wide variety of products obtained from the forest, including Medicines, Bamboo products, Wood products, Oils and Fragrances.
This exposure broadened their understanding of the importance of forests and their products.
- Bamboo Diversity
The students witnessed a vast array of bamboo species nearly 80 species showcasing the diversity and versatility of this sustainable resource.
- Miyawaki Plantation site visit
Miyawaki plantation is done for forest restoration and reforestation using native species.
4.Entomology Museums or Insectarium which provided a unique opportunity to learn about insects and their importance in ecosystems.
5.Students participated in inauguration of PRAKRATI NIKETAN RAJBHASHA UPVAN and took part in the plantation drive.
6.Students also saw a documentary on Nauradehi Wildlife Sanctury.
The excursion to TFRI was an enriching experience, providing students with hands-on insights into forestry, bamboo, and biotechnology. It sparked curiosity and interest in sustainable practices and conservation. Interactive sessions with scientists and researchers further enhanced the learning experience.
