Educational Visit to MCMM 19-8-2025

Our school organized an educational visit to the Military College of Material Management (MCMM), Jabalpur, a premier logistics training institute of the Indian Army. Known for training officers of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, it plays a vital role in defense studies. The purpose of the visit was to learn about India’s military history, logistics, and honor the bravery of soldiers.

Highlights of the Visit

CBRN Safety Suits – Designed to protect soldiers from Chemical, Biological, Radioactive, and Nuclear threats, these include masks, gloves, boots, and helmets made of special fabrics.
This trip left us with deep respect and gratitude for the Indian Army. The AOC Museum, now open to civilians on select days for a nominal fee, is a treasure of India’s glorious military heritage..

Heritage Walk – We began with a walk on Sita Pahari across the MCMM campus, which houses memorials and museums.

Navdeep Block – Dedicated to Late Lt. Navdeep Singh, who eliminated three terrorists at the LOC in 2011 before sacrificing his life. He was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra, India’s highest peacetime gallantry award.

Kangla Tombi Memorial – Commemorates the Battle of Kangla Tombi, where Japanese forces attacked the North Eastern frontiers of British India.

Army Ordnance Corps Museum – Showcased weapons and documents from India, Turkey, Russia, USA, Germany, and Australia. Rare artifacts included Mangal Pandey’s musket, a Gatling gun (capable of 800 rounds per minute), a bronze cannon, Raja Hari Singh’s horse carriage, and priceless historical archives. The museum also highlighted the 1971 Indo-Pak war, India captured over 90,000 Pakistani soldiers. In 1972, around 12,000 of them were kept at Jabalpur’s 100 POW Camp, which was set up to safely house them until peace talks and agreements were finalized.

Ammunition Model Room – Displayed rounds of different calibres, grenades, and models of missiles like Prithvi and BrahMos.
